1. Introduction

You think that’s a ridiculous statement? Well it isn’t. If you have been cheesed off in the past with money-making plans and businesses that did everything except ever make any money, then relax, because the book you are now reading contains such huge potential, it could help you toward creating a sizeable and weighty business for you and your family, and most importantly, a very profitable business at that. This book will pay for itself many times over within the first month of operation. I kid you not. It really will. Believe.

 

This business can be operated from home and in your spare time by anyone who can read and pack an envelope. You can be of any age from 18 to 80 and either side of those parameters too if you really want.

 

You don’t need a great deal of capital to get started, and there is no recruiting to do, no circulars to send out, nothing to do with ebooks or self-improvement programs, nothing remotely dodgy or dicky about the whole business whatsoever. On the contrary, you will be supplying Universities, TV companies, schools, teachers, Local Authorities, bookshops, top businesses, and for the most part, very decent and honest people throughout the country.

 

So how did I get into this business in the first place? And what exactly is it?

 

The whole enterprise revolves around buying and selling books. We are talking about actual hard copy books that you can read in the bath or on the beach, books that you can take to work, or read on the way to work, or lend to a friend, and still sell on when you have finished with them. And as so often happens when one stumbles on something really successful, it was almost by accident.

 

My good lady is a nurse and over the years she has accumulated hundreds of nursing textbooks. She was always taking various courses of one kind or another and once she had completed them, her study books were, to all intents and purposes, redundant. They sat on the shelves gathering dust. She sold a few to nursing colleagues, but as we all know, colleagues and friends often expect to buy for almost nothing at all, indeed sometimes they expect them for free. Nursing books are expensive beasts, £30 each is not unusual. Too good to give away you might think, or indeed to do nothing with at all.

 

So we tried one or two on the auction sales sites but they didn’t really realise that much, and it seemed to be very time consuming as well, until one day someone said the magic words:  Try Amazon. What wonderful advice that turned out to be, and since then, there has been no looking back for our book sales division. Like Topsy, our business just grew and grew.

 

I now have over 10,000 books in stock and I am actively seeking larger premises to store them all. I dispatch books every day throughout the country, good books at great prices, yet hundreds of my books are priced at the cheapest level available anywhere in Britain. Bookstores across the country are regular customers of mine.

I have been actively involved in dozens of businesses over the past forty years or so, some hugely successful, and some not so, but this one has the most potential of any of them from a profit making point of view, especially in relation to the small amount of capital employed. There is almost no risk involved, the products don’t go off, or bad, or have a sell by date, though some books can be riskier than others, and I will try and steer you well clear of the tricky ones!

 

The profit margins can be huge, and I really do mean huge. I recently bought a book for 10p and sold it a week later for £30! You work out the margin on that, you work out the percentage profit, you don’t need me to, and the beautiful thing is, this is not at all unusual. I now do it every week. I have done it hundreds of times over the past couple of years, and if you follow my advice, you will do it too. Seriously, you will. Believe!

 

What is more, bad debts are virtually unknown, you don’t need to be a computer programmer, and you don’t need your own website because that will all be done for you by the owners of the respective sales sites. All you do need is a computer with modem and preferably broadband, which you may already have. After that, all you have to do is sign up with one or more of the sales sites and list your books and I’ll even show you how to do that.

 

All the sales notifications come to you by email and you dispatch the orders as soon as possible. The cash drops into your bank account twice a month as regular as clockwork and that’s the bones of the business.

 

So if the business is so great, and so simple, why tell everyone about it, and what more could there possibly be to learn?

 

Well for a start, I am not telling everyone. Only those perceptive individuals like yourself who have had the courage to invest their hard earned £11.95 to find out exactly how I did it. And won’t all these new people swamp my business? I doubt it. I can stand the competition. The chances of you setting up right next door to me are pretty remote, and anyway, I have my stock to keep me warm, and the network of suppliers I have built up over the past two or three years.

 

I actually look forward to competing with YOU! I look forward to seeing your name on the sellers’ lists, and I look forward to hearing about your great successes and occasional failures too, because there are bound to be some of those as well. In business of any kind, there always are.
